Save Current Settings

The Save current settings button performs two functions:

  1. It updates the ThemeStarta preview (the WYSIWYG editor) with your most recent design changes.
  2. It saves your design changes so that they are ready for you to update your live theme.

Note: Using this button only updates the back end preview area – it will not have any effect on your front end (live site) until you also click the Update Theme With Current Settings button.

Save your settings as frequently as you make any change, large or small, or as soon as you want to see any change you make reflected in the preview area.

Each time you save your current settings the preview will be updated so you can see the effect of your changes.

You can make as many modifications as you want in one or more ThemeStarta options panels and only need to save your current settings when you want those changes to be visible in the preview. For example, you might select a new background color in the settings for your header but in order to see the new color in the preview you would then need to press the Save current settings button.

Important:

  • Make sure you allow the ThemeStarta preview page to completely reload after saving before you do anything else. You don’t want to interrupt the saving process!
  • If you have made changes to your design settings and also want to upload a new image (such as a background image, for example) be sure to save your current settings first. Uploading an image will also reset your theme preview settings to the last save point. Avoid losing design changes by saving your changes before you upload any image.
